Azerbaijan eases visa on arrival for Iranians
TEHRAN – Citizens of 15 countries including Iran can obtain Azerbaijan visas via self-service terminals upon arrival at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, IRNA reported.
As of May 15, ASAN Visa terminals are providing services in seven languages of Azerbaijani, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Persian and Russian. The terminals are also equipped with passport readers, POS-terminals as well as banknote receivers.
“Currently 14 self-service terminals have been installed at the airport… and getting a visa costs $20,” Azer News quoted Chairman of ASAN Service Ulvi Mehdiyev as saying on Tuesday.
Along with self-service terminals, visa issuance and banking services will be arranged in four windows of the terminal. On average, the process of issuing visas will take two minutes, the report said.
The ASAN Visa system also offers visas to group travelers of two to ten individuals.
Other eligible applicants include citizens of South Korea, China, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey and Japan.
A total of 99,158 Iranian nationals visited the Republic of Azerbaijan during the first three months of 2018, Azer News reported.
